Notepaper holder - an easy project for your little one
A real simple idea for a craft small children can make to give
as a holiday or birthday gift...
Use old cereal box cardboard and cut out a shallow box (this
will be a shape similar to that of the Red Cross symbol).
Basically, it is a square about 3" x 3" which will be the bottom
of the box, with an extra 1" piece on each of the 4 sides to
fold up as the sides of the box. Score the outside edges of the
base to make it easy to fold the cardboard up. Tape the edges
to form the box. Use watered down white glue, paintbrushes, and
scraps of tissue and have the children cover their box in tissue
pieces. You can use theme tissue such as a Christmas design for
Christmas presents. (or paint, or use stickers, or decorate in any manner)
for the note paper -use scrap paper cut to fit inside the box (or have
the box fit the scrap paper you have!). Voila! You have a
notepaper box to give away! My parents loved theirs...Grandma
told the children it was so brightly coloured, when she was on
the phone and needed paper, it was always easy to find!
Another similar idea is to use frozen juice containers instead
of boxes for use as pen and pencil holders.
